Timber Sales

Timber Sales

Selling timber is more than just harvesting trees—it’s about getting the best return for your investment while protecting the future of your land. At Acorn, we handle the entire process start to finish, so you don’t have to worry about the details.

HOW WE MANAGE YOUR SALE

MARKING THE SALE AREA

We map property boundaries and identify sensitive zones like SMZs. These areas are marked on the ground and reflected on updated maps to guide the harvest.

SELECTING TREES TO HARVEST

Our foresters determine which trees to remove to meet your objectives while protecting stand health. Trees are either marked individually or identified with clear harvest prescriptions.

PLANNING
ACCESS

We plan roads, trails, and set locations before logging begins to limit disturbance. Thoughtful access planning reduces cost and protects soil and water resources.

soliciting and negotiating bids

We solicit competitive bids from vetted buyers using detailed maps, volume estimates, and harvest specifications. Offers are evaluated to select the one that provides the highest overall return.

PROTECTING YOU WITH CONTRACTS

Sales are formalized with Acorn’s timber sale contract tailored to protect landowner interests. Contracts are updated regularly to reflect current legal standards and specific sale terms.

OVERSEEING
THE HARVEST

Degreed foresters supervise operations to enforce Best Management Practices, proper sorting, and safety. We document compliance with load inventories, photos, and field checks.

reporting and clean-up

After harvest we manage cleanup (gates, road grading, debris) and confirm the site is in good condition. You receive a final report showing volumes harvested and payments by product class.

planning
what's next

Once the sale is complete, we help you look ahead to the next phase for your property—whether that’s reforestation, wildlife management, or ongoing land stewardship.
